BrickHouse / About
We design, build and support small business operations — custom systems, built around how you actually run. It starts with a free Walk on your floor.
What we are
01
Built around how you already run — we don’t care whose logo is on the old system, only whether the flow gets faster.
02
Support and upgrades on an optional per-system agreement. Most implementations fail quietly in year two because nobody maintained them. That’s the part we don’t skip.
03
The unglamorous middle — routing, integrations, the custom projects nobody puts on a website. That’s where most operations actually lose their time.
04
Every Inventory includes at least one recommendation to spend nothing. If a process change fixes it, that’s the recommendation, even when it costs us the project.
Why we exist
The cost of building working software has collapsed, and the number of tools available to a small operation has exploded. What hasn’t changed is the hard part: knowing what to build, for whom, whether it’s worth building at all, and how to make it work with the six systems you already run.
Most operations don’t need more software. They need someone to work out where the time is actually going, then build the smallest thing that fixes it — and stay on it afterwards.
That’s the whole company. Find the gap, build the fix, keep it working.
And there’s a longer game in it for you: an operation that runs on documented, connected systems is worth more — to a buyer, to a lender, to an insurer — than one that runs on the owner’s memory. Every engagement we do leaves you more sellable than it found you.
Who does the work
A Certified Engineering Technologist, certified in Ontario, with 12 years in design, operations, manufacturing and product engineering, hands-on across industrial environments. Someone who has stood on the floor, not only read about it.
That matters here for one reason. The failure mode in this trade is recommending technology to a process nobody understood first — a consultant who has never watched a changeover selling software to fix one. We do the diagnosis before anyone mentions a product, and the person doing it has run the kind of operation you run.
Right now, every Inventory is run personally by the owner. As we grow, that work passes to people we employ and train — never to a franchisee or a subcontractor.
Straight talk
Every firm lists what it does well. Here’s when you should call someone else.
The Inventory takes two weeks before implementation even starts. If something is on fire right now, grab the quickest patch you can and get running. Come back when you want to know why it caught fire.
We start on your floor — the Walk is free — and deliver the build work remotely between visits. If your expectation is a consultant on site every day, a staffing firm will serve you better.
If you have a continuous-improvement lead or an internal systems person with capacity, they know your business better than we will in two weeks. Give them the budget instead.
If the real issue is a manager nobody will work with, or a pay structure driving the wrong behaviour, no system fixes that. We’ll say so in the report, but you’d be paying us to tell you something you already know.
We also don’t work in chemicals, aerospace, automotive or defence — those need certifications we don’t hold.

Careers
We grow by hiring, not by franchising. Every Inventory and every implementation is run by someone on our team, which is how the quality stays consistent and the benchmark stays worth something.
The role we hire for is an Operations Analyst. The job is directing our tooling rather than doing the analysis by hand — but a person runs your Inventory, sits on the interviews, and makes the judgement calls. You don’t need a consulting background or the ability to code. You do need to be systematic, comfortable on a plant floor and on a video call, and genuinely fluent with AI tools.
Nothing open right now. If that sounds like you, write anyway — we’d rather know who you are before we’re hiring.
Referral partners. If you work with operations businesses — as an MSP, an integrator, an equipment dealer or an accountant — and you’d rather introduce us than take the work on yourself, we pay a referral commission on the first year. You make the introduction; we do the work and carry the responsibility for it.
One conversation, no deck. Describe it in plain language and we will tell you honestly whether it is a tooling fix, a process fix, or something you should not spend money on at all.
